These are the ruins of Samegawa Ufunushi's compound. He was the grandfather of Shouhashi, the unifier of the Ryukyus. The main part of the compound was originally located further to the east of the settlement, but it was buried by a landslide. The compound's place of worship was moved to within Ibi forest for preservation. In 2002, a typhoon destroyed the building symbolic of the court.
