Minton Gusuku is located in Nakandakari in the Tamagusuku district. It is an old gusuku built at an elevation of 110 meters. It is said that the founders of the Ryukyu kingdom came from Niraikanai and declared Amamikiyo as a place to live in peace before settling there. The offspring of those founders flourished and spread throughout Okinawafrom this land, and it is considered one of the famous spots visited duringAgariumaai, a pilgrimage to various holy lands in Okinawa. It is also a designated historical landmark of Okinawa prefecture.
