Ishikibama is on the eastern coast of Kudaka Island. This island has a history of having chestnut, barley, and other sed filled pots washed upon its shores. The center of the island is an important religious place. Banded communities of Ukonisomatsu and Mizukanpi act as protection against the tide. In 1995, the Plant Community of Ishikibama Beach in Kudaka Island was designated as a natural treasure by Okinawa Prefecture.
