Sefautaki is found in the Chinen region, in the eastern portion of Nanjou City. Sefautaki is one of the utaki (holy prayer grounds) created by the Ryukyu god of creation, Amamikiyo and is considered to be the most sacred holy ground in all of Okinawa.It was registered as a World Heritage site in December of 2000 due to its universal value that should be preserved for future generations to come.
