The ruins of Sashiki wi Gusuku can be found in the Sashiki district. This castle was built by Sho Hashi (who united the Ryukyu Kingdom) and his father, Sho Shisho, before they assaulted Shimashi Ozato Gusuku. Located towards the mountains off Torii next to Sashiki Elementary School along route 331, the grounds provide a fantastic view of Nakagusuku Bay and the Katsuren Peninsula.
