This is a community of hamajincho that grows in Fusozaki Beach in the Sashiki region. This location is the only place where hamajincho can be found in the Okinawa. Hamajincho are small trees that range from one to two meters in height, but are a very rare type found only in the coastal regions of Kyushu, Okinawa, and Taiwan. They bloom small, faint lavender flowers from around January each year. Fusozaki Beach's hamajincho community was designated as a national treasure of Okinawa in 1961.
